GIL JUNG was born and raised in Germany’s beautiful Westerwald region where her father ran the family-owned department store. After graduating from the Axel Springer School of Journalism, she went to Bonn as a political correspondent in 1990. When love took her to Paris in 1992, she began working as a freelance lifestyle and fashion correspondent for AZ, B.Z., Hamburger Morgenpostand Kölner Express. In the mid-90s, she spent three years in London as a freelance foreign correspondent for Welt am Sonntag, SZ Magazin and RTL Television. She speaks fluent English and French.
After a leave of absence to manage a small family operation with three little spin-offs, she resumed her journalistic activity in Germany for the celebrity magazine Gala, the online journal Legal Tribune Online (a cooperation with Spiegel Online), the style magazine ICON and Welt am Sonntag.
Since 2014, she has held executive PR positions at various hotels and restaurants in Berlin, including Head of PR for Dormero Hotels and for the restaurants Borchardt, Grosz and Bricole. GIL JUNG is an enthusiastic cook and host, loves the diversity of cuisines, has become a downhill and cross-country skiing junkie, and is thankful for good DJs and green hideaways at the edge of the big city jungle.
